The aim of stakeholder capitalism is to structure a sustainable form of capitalism that encompasses all stakeholders in a shared and sustainable value chain. It recognizes that a company's purpose goes beyond maximizing shareholder value and includes creating long-term value for employees, customers, communities, and the environment. The concept emphasizes the importance of adopting sustainable practices, promoting social progress, and ensuring good governance.

Professor Klaus Schwab, founder and chairman of the World Economic Forum, introduced this idea over 50 years ago in his Davos Manifesto, which asserted that private corporations have a responsibility as trustees of society. Stakeholder capitalism believes that businesses can positively contribute to society by creating value for all stakeholders and working towards the collective good.

The metrics of stakeholder capitalism go beyond financial measures such as profits and shareholder returns. They encompass social and environmental indicators like employee well-being, customer satisfaction, community impact, and environmental sustainability. By evaluating performance across these dimensions, companies can assess their contributions to society and their efforts to create long-term value for stakeholders.
